We the Almighty: 826 New Orleans in collaboration with students from G.W. Carver High School

Opening: Saturday August 8, 12 - 9 pm
Exhibition Dates: August 8 - September 6

Good Children Gallery member Southerly Gold proudly presents the exhibition, We the Almighty. As artists and educators we believe in the visions and words of our young people. The exhibition of poetic collages made from 10th graders at G.W. Carver High School, in collaboration with the local non-profit 826 New Orleans, reclaims the language of the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution, and the Emancipation Proclamation. Students told their stories, in their voices. Their perspective. Their history.

Let us recognize and raise up the voices of our youth and stand in solidarity with their concerns, hopes and dreams.

*A forthcoming book of this work will be available for purchase after its release date of 8/26/20
