Dark Lights continued…
Installation and video by James L Hayes

Opening Saturday February 12, 6 - 9 p.m.

Exibition Dates: February 12 - March 5

Dark lights continued…
is a one-person show by Irish artist James L Hayes. Hayes’ work is often installation
based and utilises many formats including sculptural cast and fabricated objects, digital video projections
and sound. Hayes’ work often deals with themes of conflict, and in the works displayed at the Good Children
Gallery this theme is coupled with environmental issues and a conflict between materials. Through his use of
the familiar everyday object Hayes’ work often evokes the uncanny, or creates an atmosphere of psychological
unease. Everyday objects are made strange and the materiality of the objects displayed is not as it seems.

This exhibition has been funded and supported by Culture Irelands Imagine Ireland (www.imagineireland.ie/)
focus in the US for 2011. The show has also been run in conjunction with both the University of New Orleans
and Louisiana State University.
