Lost Under The Current: Mandy Torres

Opening: Saturday Jan 9, 12 - 9 pm
Exhibition Dates: Jan 9 - Feb 7

Good Children Gallery is pleased to announce Lost Under the Current, a solo exhibition by photographer Mandy Torres. This body of work is a personalized response to the global pandemic and touches on what happens when intimacy is replaced with isolation through photography, mixed media work, and installation.

Mandy Torres is a Puerto Rican photographer and mixed media artist living and working in New Orleans. After the death of her partner in 2010 she began exploring the ways in which preservation through documentation impacts the concept of mortality. Her work acknowledges her relationship with the American South through intimate friendships, violence, death, and sexuality within southern youth.

Curated by Scott Andresen and Dorthy Ray
