aliens, dead zones and beyonders: Jaret Vadera
Opening: Saturday May 12, 6 - 10 pm
Exhibition Dates: Saturday May 12 - June 3

aliens, dead zones, and beyonders explores the spaces that lie just beyond our vision. Artist Jaret Vadera brings together works in photography, collage, sculpture, video, and projection to weave together a constellation of stories about migration, time travel, and unseeable elephants.

Good Children Gallery is pleased to present Jaret Vadera¡¯s first solo exhibition in New Orleans. The exhibition is curated by Scott Andresen.

Jaret Vadera is a transdisciplinary artist whose work explores the poetics of translation. Vadera's paintings, prints, photographs, videos, and installations have been exhibited and screened internationally at venues such as the Queens Museum, MoMA, the Smithsonian Asian Pacific American Center, Asia Society, Aga Khan Museum, Bhau Daji Lad Museum, and the Maraya Art Centre. In parallel, Vadera has worked as a curator, programmer, and writer on projects that focus on art as a catalyst for social change. Vadera studied in the fine arts mobility program at The Cooper Union, received his undergraduate degree in fine art from the Ontario College of Art and Design University, and his M.F.A. in painting and printmaking from Yale University. Vadera is Assistant Professor of the Practice in New Media at Cornell University.
